5 Reasons Vegas Spring Break is the Destination of a Lifetime

Las Vegas, NV – As Spring Break rapidly approaches, many college students are planning where to spend this year celebrating this special week.  For Seniors, it’s your last chance to go out with a bang and have the greatest Spring Break adventure of your life.  ‘My VIP Guy’ Jason McCormac, a long-time Vegas resident and seasoned party pro, offers up these 5 reasons Vegas Spring Break is the experience of a lifetime.

Reason #1 – NO LAST CALL! Vegas never sleeps! Maximize your time spent at Spring Break 2012 in a city where the entertainment never stops.  Enjoy pool parties with world class DJs and hot bodies during the day, and the most luxurious and exquisite nightclubs on the planet until the sun comes up.  Try your luck in the casinos, hit a show, or just cruise “the strip” mingling with millions of other Spring Breakers from around the world.

Reason #2 – Home to MTV’s Spring Break 2012!  With MTV hosting this year’s annual Spring Break party in Las Vegas, there are sure to be tons of your favorite artists and celebrities hanging poolside during the day, and performing nightly at the top nightclubs.  Come home with some live MTV footage of you having the Spring Break of your life to add to your YouTube page.

Reason #3 – No Freshman!  Vegas is a 21 & up Spring Break destination so spend your final college Spring Break with your favorite upper-classmen with style and class, and leave the freshman to the bathroom keg stands.

Reason #4 – Vegas is affordable! If you’re looking for a cheap Spring Break destination, Las Vegas has plenty of options to save you money.  If you know the right people you can spend your entire week at the hottest clubs and pool parties drinking from an open bar! For ladies, the pool parties and nightclubs are free, and so are the drinks! For the fellas, keep in mind that Vegas has no open container laws, so BYOB almost anywhere you go.  Hotel rates are cheap too if you book ahead of time and know somebody to help get you the best deals.

Reason #5 – Road trip!  Vegas is within driving distance, so you can pile in with your best friends for a road trip to remember.  With no need to buy a plane ticket, you have extra money to spend partying and gambling in the City of Sin.  Just remember to be safe and have a designated driver, as DUI check points will be everywhere.

With these 5 Reasons why Vegas Spring Break is the destination of a lifetime, I’m sure you’re already packing!  Everyone remembers to bring a swimsuit, but don’t forget to pack some clothes for the club at night.  Unless you wanna be stuck wandering the strip with a 12 pack of PBR while the rest of your friends dance the night away at the hottest clubs, remember these nightclub staples.  Guys: bring at least one collared shirt and a pair of dress shoes. Jeans are OK.  Ladies: bring at least one pair of comfortable high heels and a cute party dress.

Vegas Club Tip # 2: Mixed Groups

It seems like Vegas clubs give girls the red carpet treatment and leave the guys waiting outside in a long line.  This is true to an extent for various reasons I won't get into at this time, but there are several things you can do to make the most of your club experience, guys included. Groups of all girls will always get into clubs the fastest, but here are some ways to move things along if there are guys in the group, without buying a table.

Be honest up front.  Tell your promoter there are guys in the group.  Most clubs will accommodate mixed groups with even number of guys and girls. Everyone will enter together through the same line.

Arrive early! There are less people and the lines move faster. For some reason everyone seems to think it's cool to wait until the last minute to check into the club. For this reason guestlist lines clog up and often times you are stuck waiting until after the list closes. Most clubs allow re-entry. My suggestion is that you arrive early and get stamped then you can leave the club to eat or gamble until the cool crowd arrives.

Dress sharply. You might see guys inside the club with T-shirts and Chucks on. They are either in the industry or a table client. Dress code will hold you up at the door every time.  Wear a button down collared shirt and dress shoes. Jeans are ok. Polos and sneakers are not acceptable at most venues.

Be prepared to pay a cover charge. Most clubs will allow guys to enter through the guestlist line with the girls, but will require a cover charge of $20-$50. It's ok to ask about reduced admission ahead of time but don't expect your promoter to be able to comp admission for guys, especially on weekends and holidays.

To recap: Be honest, arrive early, dress sharply, and be prepared to pay a cover.  Follow these simple rules and everyone in your group will enjoy their Vegas club experience.

Vegas Club Tip # 1: Street Hustlers

What is a street hustler? How do you avoid being scammed by one? Chances are, as soon as you hit the strip you will be harassed by one.  They come in all forms, from the well dressed business man, to the ill-groomed dirty guy lacking a dental plan.  They will offer you the sun & the moon for any nightclub in town, and often have stacks of "VIP passes" from every club.

These guys DO NOT work for a club.  They will tell you anything to get you to accept their "free passes" for a tip often times to the tune of $5-$30 per person.  This is a scam! These passes are FREE, and a marketing tool for clubs on the strip. Do not stop and talk to these guys, they are very smooth, and they will say anything to hustle you for whatever spare cash you have on you.

What to do: The best way to avoid this type of scam is to make arrangements BEFORE you get to Vegas with a reputable club promoter that works directly for the nightclub you wish to visit.
